Harmonix announced today that American classic rock band Grand Funk Railroad and new wave English rockers Joy Division will be making their Rock Band debuts next week, along with the addition of a new track from J. Geils Band. The update actually includes three Pro guitar and bass upgrade compatible tracks, which is quite a bit for an update only featuring four songs. The tracks in this week’s update are Grand Funk Railroad’s The Loco-Motion, plus Pro guitar and bass upgrade compatible versions of Grand Funk Railroad’s We’re an American Band, J Geils Band’s Freeze-Frame and Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart.
The tracks will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii on April 5th, except in Europe, where the PS3 update will be on the 6th. They’re only available as singles, so they’re the regular $1.99 USD/£.99 UK/€1.49 EU/160 Microsoft Points/200 Wii Points each. Keep in mind that if you want the Pro guitar and bass upgrade, that doesn’t come with the tracks and costs an extra $0.99 USD/£0.59 UK/€0.79 EU/80 Microsoft Points/100 Wii Points each.
